-When I was younger, I really wanted a tree house. I thought they were the coolest things in the world, and I wanted one. One day at my grandma's house, we came up with the idea to make a tree house. I have no idea what age I was, but I had to have been pretty small. We took a huge box that my grandma had and made into the house. The washing machine became the tree. We put the box onto the washing machine, and I climbed a step ladder to go up into the tree house. At one point, I even created a basket device so I could send it down and have my mom or grandma send up food or other things like that for me. I thought it was so cool.
-One year, we also created a car in my grandma's basement. She always had cardboard for us, and we carefully constructed the car. We took the various lawn chairs that my grandma had and placed them in the same setup as the seats in a car. We created a hood and a trunk, and we also created the windowshield. When we played, my brother made us put on seatbelts. The seatbelts were made of toilet paper. We would take turns driving the car, and I thought it was awesome that I was "driving" a car. I think we also created a fake driver's license.
-When I was 8 or 9, I decided that I was going to hang out in the bathroom. I put a pillow, a blanket, and stuffed animals into the bathtub, and I went in there and began reading. I don't remember how long I was in there, but I left only briefly so that the men of the household could use the bathroom.
-When I was in 3rd grade, I slept over at my friend Lindsay's house. I remember only a couple of things we actually did. I remember that we put on a Britney Spear's song, and Lindsay borrowed my shoes so that we could make a video of this song. When it was time to go to bed, my friend Becca and I couldn't fall asleep. We both had difficulty sleeping on the floor, and we tried so many things to fall asleep. At one point in time, we decided to go sleep in the first floor bathroom. We thought it would be cool, but we weren't able to get to sleep. Lindsay's mom kept checking on us because we were still awake. She was getting annoyed with us, and finally, she made up the couch in the other room, and we finally fell asleep at 4:30 am. We woke up probably 2 hours later. I borrowed "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" from my friend. I went to my grandma's house with my mom, and I got to the part where Harry Potter blows up his aunt when I fell asleep on her couch because I had been up all night.
-When I was 13, I tried fall asleep on the floor in my room because my cat Sammy had been sick and had finally fallen asleep on my bed. I didn't want to move him because he was so miserable so I decided that I was going to sleep on the floor in my room. That was a bad plan because I was awake all night. I couldn't fall asleep, and I fell asleep for about 1 hour that night. After a while, I gave up sleeping, and I later went to a lock-in at my church. Having slept only an hour the night before, I tried to go asleep earlier which is not really possible at a lock-in. As a result, I got about 4 hours of sleep that night. Having 5 hours of sleep in 48 hours is not a good idea especially when you have to go to a funeral. I left the lock-in early to go to my great aunt's funeral. I remember that for some reason, I was actually awake, and I was so sad because I didn't want my aunt to be dead. I remember taking a walk around the block although I am not sure who I took a walk with. Later that day, I had to register for school and for my 1 high school class. I think I crashed later that day.
-From the time I was born until I was maybe 3, my family had two cats named Titan and Blacky. I really do not remember much about them. I do remember that one day, I was so afraid of Titan that I climbed up to where the microwave was to get away from him. We ended up having to put both of the cats to sleep, and I remember going with my mom for one of them. I threw up on the way back, and we had McDonalds. That's all I really remember about them.
-Briefly after that, we got a cat named Big Girl. Big Girl was an awesome cat. As I grow older, I remember less and less of her, but I know that she was a very loving cat who put up with a very annoying child named Anna. She would sit on my lap, and for the most part, she would tolerate me picking her up and carrying her around. When I was 7 or 8, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and she had surgery to try and save her life. I remember that the fur on her tummy turned blue/green because of the surgery, and she didn't want us to touch her there anymore. She would freak out, and that made me sad. The cancer came back, and it was in October of 3rd grade that we had to put her to sleep. I was so sad, and I stayed at home because I didn't want to go with her to have her put to sleep.
-When I was 7 or so, my next door neighbor was installing a pool. I think we had to take the fence down to do it...I don't really remember that. I remember that they were digging a huge hole, and at one point, they were going to go buy McDonalds. They offered to buy me something, but I turned them down because I thought my family was going to Burger King later. We didn't go to Burger King, and I didn't anything from McDonalds.
-When I was in 4th grade, my neighbor's dog Duke died. He had been quite old, and he had lived a good life. Then my neighbors began the search for a new dog. One of the dogs they had busted out from the garage door, and the dog was returned. I remember one day after school, my neighbor had to watch me for my mom, and one of the dogs (I don't remember if it was the same one) was going crazy. She went and tried to hide under a car or an inaccessible tree or something like that. If that was a different dog, she ended up going back. They ended up getting Tootsie who was very crazy, but she has tamed over the years.
-When I was 6, my uncle was living in my grandma's house. He had two cats named Archie and Dottie. Everytime you walked in the door, Dottie would try to jump on you. She tried to jump on my head once I think. She would also jump on you while you were walking out the door because she was also an outdoor cat. She wasn't declawed which made it more painful. She also had a leash for outside, and I think I fed her grass one time.
This is my favorite kind of blog; I find myself reminiscing quite often, and most of the time, it gets rolled into a blog in some way or another.
ReplyDeleteKeep blogging, Anna! I love keeping up with people this way! Reading the insights of others is pretty sweet. :)
